Need advice applying for a U.S Social Security Number for Canadian nurses

Can anyone help or advice me on applying for a U.S social security number. Here is my situation.

-working full time as an RN in Ontario but planning to relocate in the U.S

-I have a conditional job offer in a Detroit hospital with a TN Visa pending visa screen through CGFNS.

• Hold a Michigan RN license

I’d like to transition to work with the least amount of waiting for a social security number.

I’m planning to call a social security office but if anyone can share their experience or have gone through a similar situation especially with the U.S border restriction I would appreciate it.
