What happens if you cancel a K1 fiance visa process and instead get married and start a CR1 spousal visa petition?
What would happen if my fiancé and I canceled our K1 visa process and instead got married and started the spousal visa process?
We had our K1 visa interview scheduled in March (Montreal, Canada) which was canceled due to covid. Everything was done except the interview. Now she has been staying here in the US with me since then, and is approaching a time where she will have overstayed the 6 months allowance within a year.
We worry that if she has to go back soon, with no idea when we can reschedule the interview, that she might not be able to come here and visit until then.
So, what would happen if we just married now?
