HR asking to travel back to US from India amidst Covid crisis

Hello all. I am an H1B visa holder currently stuck in India since Feb 2020. I finish my 180 day period on July 31st and my HR has asked me to make a trip back to the US before that to avoid tax implications.

I am extremely scared of travelling as its a 24 hour flight and my family is also very tensed. Can someone please guide me on what are these implications and is there a way to avoid them? Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.
