My F1 status expired in 01/20- my AOS (family based)was was received 09/19 but got an RFE. My employment authorization was approved in April 2020 but I haven’t received my card. I have not done my biometrics and USCIS don’t have any biometrics of mine on file. I have to start my PhD in August and I will need a work permit. I can’t transfer my SEVIS from my previous attendance because of the 5-month rule( SEVIS record transfer requires that a student enroll in the new academic program in 5 months or less from the previous program end date). With the trend of events, I doubt the card will get to me before the start of the program if there is no intervention. Is there any way I can navigate this situation? Please help!!
