So my husband and I separated 3 months ago and since then, he applied and received food stamps and health insurance from the government. We are still married but will divorce soon. If I submit and application later in the future, will it be denied because he received government assistance while we were married? I was told president Trump signed a law that disqualified applicants if they received government assistance. And would doing my taxes as Married but filing separated make a difference?
