Will my fiancé be able to get a K1 visa if he hasn't worked in the last year?

I'm trying to bring my fiancé on a k1 visa. Unfortunately he hasn't been employed in over a year.

He got laid off at the beginning of covid-19 and hasn't been able to find a job since.

We are living in a 3rd party country and I have to move back to the states. I'm planning to bring him over on a k1 visa but I'm wondering if it will be an issue as he won't be able to provide 6 month bank statements because of no job.
