Summer internship for F1 students

Hello,

I am a high school student (17yo) that just graduated. I was currently accepted to work as a summer intern in a tech company. Does this violate my F1 visa status? I was wondering if it is illegal but the employer still accepted me. I am so confused. Can you guys help me?
