Leaving the US on a J1 visa for a PhD in Europe- implications for the future?

I am currently working as a data analyst in a research lab on a J1 visa. I have received a PhD position offer in Europe and have decided to take it up. My position will most likely start in September of 2021 (travel being allowed during the pandemic) but my J1 status expires in the November of 2021. If I intend to come back to the US for work in the future, will this complicate things for me and reflect negatively on me?

Any insights would be highly helpful.
