My parents who are US residents will request US residency for my brother and me (single, over 21). Our question is the following: the waiting times are different depending on the local office or service center (Potomac, Texas, California, etc…). Texas has the shortest waiting time and we are wondering if the petitions are randomly assigned to an office or is there a way to choose the office you get assigned to, for example moving to Texas and requesting residency from there. It is very short (about 1 week to 7 months). I am on a time sensitive situation as I am planning to apply to medical school and most of them require me to have a green card. I would appreciate your help and thank you for taking the time to read.
