How many years really does it take for an asylum seeker to become a US citizen?

What are some actual stories from real people who come through this process. I know can apply for Green Card after one year of being in the US and after 5 years you can apply for citizenship. But I can't find actual stories from people proving that they became citizens after 6 or 7 years in America. I only found stories of people migrating to the US and becoming citizens after approximately 15 years, but that's not asylum seekers... How long does it really take?

Thanks
