This is my timeline in case it helps anyone. I know I drove myself nuts trying to find people with the same time renewal as me in hopes to hear things were starting to speed up.
Feb 5th- Submitted renewal (with passport pictures) (Chicago lock box to Nebraska Center) Feb 10th- Immigration received my renewal March 10th- Got a paper notifying me of the reuse of my fingerprints May 25th- After reading a few posts, I decided to contact my congressman hoping the will be able to submit an inquiry for me since my EAD was due to expire on 6/10. I stated how important my job was for me, and how loosing it would impact me financially, however I was notified that the person in charge of the immigration cases was out on vacation until the first week of June. May 25th- Decided to contact my Senator instead to ask for help, I left a voicemail and within an hour I got a call back giving me instructions on how to fill out a disclosure form for them to look at my case. May 26th-Got an email back saying that the Senator would make an inquiry about my case, and that I would be notified of any updates. May 27th- I noticed that my case has been pending for more than 105 days so I decided to also submit an inquiry myself through the immigration website, I got an email saying to expect a reply by June 17th. I constantly checked my case online to see if there were any change June 2nd- Got an email back from my Senator's office saying that they got an email back from immigration and they were not able to expedite the case. June 7th- I was put on a leave from work June 9th- I got an email back from immigration answering my request submitted on May 27th, it stated my case was in line to be reviewed by an officer June 10th morning- (EAD expiration date) at this point I was so anxious about the whole thing and all I kept thinking about is how I'll accrue unlawful presence, and how bad it was to not be able to work financially wise. I kept trying to call immigration but I couldn't figure out how to be able to speak to a representative (the automatic machine makes it impossible) until I came across a post that stated to use the "technical difficulty" loop, so I did it and was immediately connected to an officer. I told her how nervous I was since my permit to work was expiring that day. She looked into my case and explained to me that on June 3rd my case was put on the pending approval list, she said she didn't know why it's been so long since and she told me she will look into nudging the officer to see if they could take a look at it. June 10th evening- I got a notification on my case saying that my EAD was approved and that my card was being produced. June 11th- Got a notification saying my DACA case was approved and that I should be getting something in the mail. June 15th- New notification saying my card was produced. June 16th- Card picked up by the USPS. June 17th- Got a mail noticed stating my DACA case was approved. June 18th- Card delivered
I have been out of work since the 7th and I will be able to start back again on the 21st. I know it could have been worst but I am thankful it didn't last any longer. I'm not sure if anything of what I did helped but I know I extended all my options trying to get some help with my case. It has been a stressful few weeks and I'm thankful it is finally over. I just hope next renewal is not as bad. (For those who are wondering this was my fourth renewal, no convictions or any traffic stops, nothing new changes either.
