On March 9th, DHS/DOJ decided it will no longer pursue judiciary review of the decisions invalidating the public charge rule (DHS statement). DOJ swiftly filed the motion to dismiss the lawsuit and SCOTUS dismissed the suit (link).
I believe this means the original decision ruling from lower courts invalidating the public charge rule is sustained and DHS/USCIS must roll back to the original 1991 public charge rule.
No guidance has posted but once this is finalized, I-944 will no longer be required, and the use of Medicaid, public housing, and SNAP (food stamp) will no longer be counted towards public charge determination.
