Hi all! I know this is a common question, but I wanted to see if anyone has a strong recommendation for one visa versus the other considering how coronavirus is affecting the immigration process.
My boyfriend and I are really struggling to make a decision. We of course want to be with each other ASAP. Pre-corona it would be clear the k-1 would get him here faster. But I’ve read that the k-1 is backlogged due to corona, and the processing time is taking almost as much time as the cr-1. So I’m leaning towards the cr-1 (I’d fly there and get married first of course). I’m just looking for anyone whose going through/recently gone through the same process and can give me some insight and advice 😅
For reference, my boyfriend lives in the Netherlands, and I am American. We lived together for 2 years in the Netherlands, and are back doing long distance so I can get started working here in the US before he arrives.
