Hi guys.
I am a US citizen, and about two years ago my bf (Russian citizen) and I applied for a fiancée visa. However, we let it expire due to getting a job offer in Sweden and our families convincing us it was the right choice to make.
Sweden has been a mixed bag and we are now considering going back to the States. I also might be getting a ludicrous job offer in Silicon Valley that will cover the relocation costs.
As you all know, the States are in a very strange place these days. My fiancée and I are concerned that if we re-start his immigration papers today, we might be getting ourselves into a really bad situation due to the current ongoing changes to the immigration policies. This is a very difficult choice we have to make. I would like to hear everyone’s opinion on this. Also, does anyone know if having an expired fiancée visa application will affect negatively a new one?
Thanks a lot for your thoughts, these are difficult times for anyone going through any degree of US immigration.
