I'm a US citizen meant to be immigrating to the UK. I have a pending spousal visa that was paused due to the processing centers in New York closing. We have no idea when this is going to start up again.
There needs to be some way, for us and for others in our situation, to find a way to be together... at some point this year.
Would it be at all worth it to apply for a green card for my husband right now? Is it possible even if I have a pending visa for the UK? Even if something could come through in 3 to 5 months at least there would be some level of expectation that we could arrange to be together through this rather than wondering, every day, for maybe even a year, if or when visa offices will open. Again, this isn't just for me, I'm asking this for the sake of anyone in a similar situation who doesn't have any way to get to their family or spouse right now.
Is there any type of permit that my husband could begin the application for now, even shorter-term but longer than the 90-day esta, that would be completed in under a year?
