File green card petition now or wait for after OPT extension is granted?

Just got my OPT/EAD granted to start June 2020. It is valid for 1 year.

Was considering applying for green card through marriage later this year but I read (and it makes sense) that since the green card application is essentially a declaration that I have intent to migrate, my 24 month OPT STEM extension might be denied later on down the road.

I would be able to apply for 24 month OPT extension on Feb-March 2021.

Can anyone give me advice on this? Should I wait until after I get my OPT extension to do the wedding stuff?!

Note 1: I also read there is action pending by Trump on OPT extension rules for August 2020 so now I am terrified.

Note 2: I know I can apply for a new EAD with the marriage application but would that even benefit me if I already have one? - valid only until June 2021 though.

Any input greatly appreciated. I hope this makes sense. Thank you.
