What to say to border officers upon arrival?

I am a UK citizen. I am currently in Turkey (family vacation) and have been here for around 3 months.

I am planning to travel to LAX (B2 visa) in 2 weeks to visit my sister who I have not seen in 4 years.

I am slightly worried that I will be asked by immigration upon arrival at LAX, why I was on a 3 month vacation in Europe, and now want to visit the US for another month.

I lost my job back home, and am using my savings to have these vacations.

I don’t know of I should lie and say I have work back home, as it feels like they may deny me as I have no job and have been on vacation for three months already.
