My dad lived in the US his whole life then came here (Canada) in his thirties and married my mom, having me 5 years later in 2002. My parents divorced when I was 14 or 16 (can't remember) and I resided with my mom. I am 19 in Canada, trying to get my USA Passport with an interview in late OCT. I don't speak to him or know his whereabouts, but I have a copy of his birth certificate and divorce license (prior to my mom). We also have some tax records (including use jobs). Is an affidavit or two from his friends enough to prove his presence there? How detailed should they be? Am I missing any important documents for him other than those? Also do we have to send these documents in before the interview? Thank you, I'm just trying to move in January, hopefully it works out.
