I have had a social security number since my second year of university. I am currently now in grad school and recently got married. My last name has changed. I need to change my ssn name to my new one but from what I’ve read online, I need work authorisation, but I’m not currently working and don’t have work authorisation through my school. So I’m confused about what I need to bring in addition to my marriage certificate to change my name. My I-20 and passport still show my maiden name.
Note : My marriage certificate shows I changed my last name and kept my middle name. My country doesn’t allow changing your last name and keeping your middle name, so my passport still shows my maiden name since I havent renewed it.
