I am a 10 year green card holder and this year I was able to file for citizenship after 3 years through marriage. I am miserable in my marriage and am consulting a divorce attorney this week ( not an immigration attorney. I am more worried about house and kids.) No cheating or abuse, we just don't get along. We have 2 small children. I work and am breadwinner. We just bought a house less than a year ago.
I filed the N400 in February 2021. If I go through the divorce, will I have to wait 2 more years to become a citizen? At this point I don't care anymore but was wondering what will happen to my application? Do I notify USCIS about the divorce? Any replies are appreciated.
