Hi, im kinda loss with all this and laws stuff are really confusing to me so im asking for some guidance here, let me explain to you my situation.
I am a canadian citizen, my partner is american. We are currently staying in mexico, that is so we can continue to spend time witch each other. I was is the USA with them, and my 6 months in the USA allowed as a canadian was up, the canadian borders still being closed for americans, the only viable option was to rent a place in mexcio and spend time there. That was about 3 months ago, and we are staying for another 3 months. After here, we are gonna spend time in the USA together, and when my time is up then, we go to canada together. They are gonna stay 4 months, they cant stay the allowed 6 months for personal reasons. So we are gonna be apart 2 months before I can go back again in the USA.
Our goal is to spend less time apart as possible, so Id like to get my K1 visa and then a green card. When should I apply for that? I heard the process takes 8 to 10 months for the form I-129F. would it be better to start sooner (if I can)? So that by the time we are apart for 2 months the process is completed and I then can get my visa and go the USA and get married? I think I should get a immigration lawyer for that stuff?
Thanks alot.
