My uncle sponsored his wife and kids to the US and they all came here about ten years ago. Once they got here, the younger kids got US passports but his eldest daughter and wife still only have a green card. After a couple of months of staying here, he couldn't afford to keep them in the US so he sent them back to our home country. Ever since, his wife and oldest daughter come here for two weeks to one month every year to maintain their green card. They've been doing this for nearly ten years and their green cards are going to expire next year.
He's asked for my help in filling out the renewal applications, but I'm afraid that their renewals will be denied because they've spent a total of eight months in the US in the last ten years. If the renewals are denied, I don't want to get blamed for messing up the application or something. What are the chances they'll be denied for not meeting residency requirements?
