Becoming US citizen - Indian citizen currently

Hello!

Hopefully this is a right community for this question, if not, please direct me.

I'm currently in USA on H1b visa. I will be getting my GC in the next 6-12 months. But, my plan is to go back to my home country. My friend suggested that i can become US citizen in 5 years after getting GC and then move back to my home country, if in case i decide to come back, i can come without visa hassel.

What are the advantages to me if i'm settled in india but as a US citizen? vs just have GC and still be an Indian citizen.

How does the taxation of the salaries work when i'm working in india as a US citizen?

thanks
