USCIS sent me a request for my birth certificate for the Form I-485 months after submitting documents, but I did send one with all my documentation. Is this normal?
After waiting for months for a response (yes I know it takes a while), I got a letter in the mail yesterday and got a little excited because I thought I was finally getting an answer. Turns out they said they need my birth certificate and that I have a certain amount of time to submit it. However I did send it, and a certified translation with a letter from the translator (which I had used previously to get my driving license). Is this normal? Could it have happened that someone somehow lost these pieces of paper by accident? I already asked my lawyer but I was curious to see if this had happened to anyone. Thanks
