I've been on an H1B since 2014 and got married in Jan 2020 to a US Citizen. We filed for my green card in July 2020. I received the EAD Combo card in Jan 2021 and am waiting for my interview. Looking at the way things are going with the San Jose CA ASC, I think this is going to take a very long time - possibly till next year.
I had a couple of questions -
- If my interview happens next year around the time I'm 2 years into my marriage - will I directly receive the 10 year green card?
- I was looking at the naturalization [documentation(https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/learn-about-citizenship/citizenship-and-naturalization/i-am-married-to-a-us-citizen)) - it says
Have been living in marital union with your U.S. citizen spouse during the three years immediately before the date you file your application and while we adjudicate your application;
To confirm - once I get my green card, I can apply directly in 3 years?
I'm expecting a kid soon and I hate having the fear that I might ever have to be away from my family.
