Hi ..I'm hoping someone can give me advice about what to do..
I just submitted the DS 160 form and paid the 12,060 rs fee to be able to schedule an interview. After paying the fee, as soon as it was received, my receipt number was automatically entered and I was able to see available appointments on a calendar. For New Delhi, many dates are open, even as early as next week. However when I select an open date and time slot from the calendar, I get a message "There are no appointments available at this time. Please try again later." When I try a few more dates/times, it says "You have reached the maximum number of attempts. Please conclude your transaction at this time."
I have also tried calling the US Visa scheduling number for New Delhi, and I never have yet succeeded in actually talking to a person. When I call the main embassy number, they say they are just an operater and can't connect me to an actual person who can answer my questions.
Does anyone know how long the receipt is valid? How will I be able to actually schedule an interview? Why are so many dates supposedly open if in reality no appointments are actually available? Help please ...thanks in advance
