Hi all,
My employer filed an i129 requesting TN visa extension, with the Vermont processing facility, which was received in Sept 14th, 2020. There have been no further updates for the past 5.5 months, other than "we have received your application". USCIS lists is processing times for this form at 4-5.5 months. A case status inquiry yielded a form reply, but no specific information about my case.
Normally the TN would be renewed at a land border, on the spot, but the employer preferred to file by mail and avoid potentially exposing me to COVID19, since I am a health care worker, and I was not vaccinated back in September, when the paperwork was filed.
Is anyone else experiencing delays with I29s? At this rate, I may just get in my car and drive to a land border to get this sorted out - it's just a huge inconvenience that I'd like to avoid.
Would appreciate any insights or experiences that others have had getting the TN visa extended by mail. Thanks!
