Hi all,
I'm a Canadian currently holding an F-1 visa for graduate school in the US through 2025. For personal reasons I won't get into, I may have to live in another (European) country during 2022. I would still visit campus for a total of about 30 days during that year (one week per quarter).
My program is OK with this, so long as I get my research done. But I'm wondering whether this will cause any complications with my visa status. Am I required to be in the US for any *minimum number of days* in a given year, or through some other defined time period? I know that one's duration of stay in the US while on F-1 affects your tax status, but I'm wondering specifically if I am at risk of losing my visa by *not being in the US enough*.
So very grateful for any help/advice on this score!
