Application for k-1 visa and applying for B-2 visa to travel to the US

Hey everyone! I’m Canadian and my bf is American. We recently applied for the k-1 visa and with the k-1 visa, they don’t allow me to travel to the US once the application is process. I was reading online how I can travel there to visit him with a B-2 Visa. If I travel there with a B-2 Visa, will that conflict with my application?! Please if anyone know any information let me know!
