I live and work in the US on a non-immigrant work visa that doesn’t expire until mid 2022.
My wife is a German citizen living in Germany and has just been issued an F1 visa.
I plan to visit Germany later this month to help her pack and move her to the US. We’re aware that F1 visa holders can fly directly from the Schengen zone into the US.
However, I cannot. So we’re planning to spend two weeks in Turkey and then travel directly to the US from there. The following is our planned itinerary:
Leave Munich at 10:30am on 11 Sep and arrive in Turkey two hours later. Leave Istanbul and arrive in San Francisco at 4:35pm on 25 Sep
The actual gap between the two timestamps (adjusting for timezones) is 14 days, 15 hours and change.
Is this itinerary valid to be considered as “spending the 14 days prior to entry in a non Schengen country”?
