[CIVIL DISCUSSION] Should the medical costs of a migrants treatment be the responsibility of their origin country ?
For Example: If a migrant from Mexico were in America and required immediate life-threatening surgery, then U.S surgeons would perform the surgery and save the migrants life. If the migrant cannot pay for his/her medical bill, then the bill shall be sent to the Mexican Government to pay. If the government of Mexico refuses to pay for their citizens bill, then should the U.S have the right to impose economic sanctions on Mexico? The economic effects of even minor sanctions would completely outweigh the price to pay for the medical bill. In doing this the Mexican government would be convinced to pay the bill ?
