If the employee, currently under a different work authorization (TN or OPT) and waiting for H1B approval wishes to pay for H1B premium processing fee for quicker approval, can he do that? Has anyone done this, who can chime in?
Employer has no reason to pay for premium processing, since the employee can work beyond Oct 1, even if H1B does not get approved in time.
Employee wants quicker approval because of potential Aug 30 USCIS furlough, and also so he can start the GC application on Oct 1.
