Hi there. This is really just an anxiety-ridden post. It’s 5 am and I haven’t slept.
My husband and I are about to send off our adjustment of status paperwork next week, along with the final check for $1225. This whole process has been a nightmare. We initially started his green card process about a year ago from Sydney when we were living there and had to move back in November due to family health emergency. But now we are in the home stretch as far as paperwork goes and I’m just scared. I don’t know that it’s worth it to try and live here. My husband still isn’t allowed to work and USCIS is furloughing 2/3 of their staff right when we are sending his work permit application. Plus, I’m only part time so I don’t have health insurance and he can’t legally get health insurance and we are in a pandemic. And today I’m even more anxious because USPS is falling apart. How can I trust that our papers will arrive safely and quickly? My contact lenses got delayed by about a month so why wouldn’t that happen to our papers?
