Just found out I was selected for a green card interview. At the moment I am in the US with my wife. She had a Fulbright scholarship for two years and is doing her PhD at moment. Unfortunately the two year rule does apply for us. We gotta go back to our country and stay there for at least two years, not necessarily consecutive though. Our J1/J2 visas are still valid for 4 years. Now my question is, is it possible for us to receive the green card even though we still have to go back for two years? I don't want this rule waived, just wanna make sure that it is legal for us to get the documents. Thank you!
