Vacationing in US & working remotely for Canadian employer on B1/B2 visa

Hi everyone! Thanks in advance for reading.

I’m a Canadian permanent resident, currently employed by a Canadian employer. I also hold a B1/B2 visa that I’ve now held for several years, and I’ve made multiple vacation trips to the US.

I’m looking to spend a few months in California from Nov 2021 to March 2022. I’m planning to be there for less than 180 days, so I would still be a Canadian resident for tax purposes.

My intention is to spend some time on vacation in California and work remotely for my Canadian employer. A few questions: 1. Is this allowed? From what I understand, this shouldn’t be problematic as I’m not working for a US employer. I’d still be working as if I was in Canada, except that I’ll get to be in warmer weather in the US & take some vacation time too. 2. Could someone please point me to some official regulation that either allows or denies this? 3. Is there another visa I would need to get that allows me to do this? 4. My employer has a US office as well, and as a last option, they could help me switch to being a US employee if needed. Is this a viable option?

I keep seeing mixed opinions on remote work, which makes me wonder if this is a grey area. Some say the main criteria is that I don’t take a job away from an American without a proper visa, which I won’t be doing as I’d still be holding a Canadian job.

Any insight here would be super appreciated!

NVC Case FE Review note

Hi everyone, my family and I are under the F3 category and we just received a notice from NVC that our documents have been approved and that we are Documentarily Qualified. My only concern is this message that we received today in addition to the acceptance: " [Name of petitioner] does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p . To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 for a joint sponsor may be submitted." We already have a petitioner and a household sponsor (the household sponsor's income is above the required level), but still unsure why we received this. Has anyone else received this message? All of our documents say "Approved" on NVC. Does this mean we have to find another sponsor? Can we show the consular officer our
