I received the following general email from USCIS and thought I would share it: Rescheduling Biometric Services Appointments We have closed the Biometrics Processing Unit (BPU) in Alexandria, VA and no longer accept written requests to reschedule biometric services appointments at application support centers. You must now call the USCIS Contact Center to reschedule a biometric services appointment. This change reduces paperwork and helps us track requests more efficiently. How to Reschedule a Biometric Services Appointment You must call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) before the date and time of your original appointment and establish good cause for rescheduling. If you fail to call before your scheduled appointment or fail to establish good cause, USCIS may not reschedule the appointment. If you fail to appear for your originally scheduled biometric services appointment and the appointment is not rescheduled, we will consider the related application, ...

Hi, I am in the process of obtaining the GC through my employer. Currently PERM has been filled and waiting. The problem is that the company will be acquired, and I am afraid the new company might not continue the process or even let me go. My concerns are: If PERM is approved with the name of the current company, and I need to continue the process with the new company (the acquirer), is that going to cause any issues? How fast can I apply for I140 after PERM is approved? Is there anything I can prepare while waiting now, just so I can shorten the wait? At which point in the process can I change employers? Hi everyone! I couldn’t find any other relevant sub-Reddit so I figured I’d ask here. I recently became a Canadian PR and still have Global Entry for the US. I’d now like to apply for NEXUS and looking at the eligibility for Canadian PRs it says “must have resided as legal resident of Canada for a minimum of three years before the day of application”. Before I became a PR, I was a student and a worker so I was a legal resident. Now my question is does that qualify me? Or when they say legal resident them mean permanent resident? As a 20 year old American citizen I wish to immigrate to Canada but I lack work experience and a college degree. I have known a Canadian girl for about 8 years now through online, we have recently started dating online for the past 2 years and would finally like to move in together. Everyday we would play video games and call for many hours straight. The issue here is as said in the title is I do not have work experience or a degree just yet. I am currently in college in the United States (2 years into college at the moment) but wishes to move to Canada ASAP. We love each other so much and we really want to make this work, as time goes by we feel as if our connection is slowly drifting away, it would be extremely painful for our relationship to end after putting so many years into this beautiful connection. I do have 18,300 in my bank due to savings overtime. I want to study in Canada for the rest of my college years but I fear that I do not have the right amount of money at the mom...

Please remove if this isn’t allowed. My dad’s I-485 was denied because of details he did not remember during his interview. He was a pedestrian at the port of entry in San Ysidro, CA in the 90s. Can anybody share their pedestrian crossing experience at San Ysidro point of entry from pre 9/11? I realize things are vastly different now but due to his age and deteriorating health, his memory is not as sharp as it used to be and he can only recall the main things but I need a more detailed story in order to file his motion to reconsider. He crossed with just an employment authorization card. Can anybody share their experiences? Sorry for the multiple posts. I'm considering getting my passport renewed (it takes a week to receive the new passport here) to avoid any complications that may arise from traveling to the US with an expiring passport. I've already booked my flight but I can update the details with the airline at least 48 hrs before travel. The new passport should get here on time. Now I'm just wondering if I can apply for an ESTA again on a new passport just 2 weeks after getting an approval on my previous passport? The 2 passports are from the same country. Would that get me denied or will I be fine doing this?
